LAMB's Nursing Institute officially opened on the 3rd March 2012, with 16 students and approval from the Government of Bangladesh. Medical, nursing, and other health staff rotate through the teaching schedule, which is in line with the Bangladesh Nursing Council curriculum.
The annual cost for each nurse is estimated at just £150, for each of the three years of training. Most trainees are from poorer backgrounds and these costs are partly met by 'loans'.
Once nurses complete their training, they are able to work for LAMB and return their 'loan', which can then be recycled to support future students.
Would you consider offering support to the Nursing Institute? You wouldn't be supporting just one nurse....but many!
We want to make support for nurse training possible although not necessarily by traditional sponsorship. Instead, all donations received will be used for the ongoing use of the Nursing Institute, as described above.
If you would like to make a donation, please visit our Donations Page, and please remember to tell us that your donation is for the Nursing Institute.
If your donation is Gift Aided, (Gift Aid declaration), the reclaimed tax will also be allocated to nurse training.
