The Calling of one of LHCF’s Trustees - August 2008
Richard Todd is one of the seven trustees that serve LHCF.
In 2002 he retired having worked as a partner with Ernst & Young for 20 years, and he began to ask God what the next step might be. For eighteen months he waited, prayed, met with a coach and his pastor, until one day he saw an advert;
‘Accountant short term (1-3 months) wanted to train finance staff and managers at LAMB Health Project, Bangladesh.’
He has now made over ten visits to LAMB travelling two or three times a year, each time for two to three months. He writes;
‘What started as a role in finance training has become an absorbing interest in bringing hope to the lives of poor people, living in another culture, and bringing stories home. Building on my finance skills, I have done most of the things that I wrote in the ‘the job of my dreams’ exercise which I did at the outset. And I have also done many more.’
